Name:  Tanya Peila

Occupation:  Administrative Assistant by day

Describe Your Occupation:  I do a TON of stuff. I assist with normal admin assistant duties. I also assist our accoutning manager with billing and A/R. I do all the building permits for our company, we are an architect firm. I also am an assistant to our marketing department and graphic department.

Tell us about yourself:  I love to be online! I have two children, 5 year old boy and 4 month old girl. I have been married for 10 years. I am a very creative person. I also maintain my won personal blog and am a Project Manager for www.247moms.com

Tell us what a typical day is like for you:  I try to get up at 630, after being up at least twice in the middle of the night for baby feedings. Get the kids dressed and ready for the day. I drop them off at daycare (two seperate daycares currently). Go to work. During this last school year and one week of the summer for vacation bible school I take my lunch and drive 20 minutes to pick up my 5 year old from VBS or preschool and drop him off at caycare and then return to work. I get off at 5pm. Go pick up both chidlren. Go home cook dinner, spend about an hour with the kids and put them to bed. Then everything else begins! I check and answer over a hundred emails for both my personal blog and 24/7 MOMS. I also check on my blog posts. I go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00.

What are some of your challenges? Having not enough time in the day to spend with my kids on weekdays. I really only get about an hour in the evenings.

Not enough sleep becuase I am trying to keep up.

Picking up my son during my lunch hour! This luckily will end, he starts kindergarten this fall.

I would love to stay at home with my children.

Cooking dinner. Luckily many times my son will eat at daycare before I pick him up. But I still have to go home and cook for my husband and I which takes time away from kids.

How do find balance in your life? I’m not really sure I have balance in my life. I try REALLY hard to not answer emails all weekend long. I try to make weekends family time.

What do you do to take time for yourself? I try to go to the spa! It is expensive but worth every penny in my book. I also quilt, when I have time. I have not done this in about a year.

Do you have any advice for other working moms? Dinner is my biggest struggle. What to make and how long it will take. Plan ahead and utilize dinner made companies.

Do you have a favorite tool or resource that you use to help stay organized? I use my crackberry, Blackberry!
